The Quilty.Health Initiative

The Quilty.Health initiative promotes the art of quilting as creative intervention in psychotherapy. As an art form, quilting offers a sensibility conducive to many treatment goals toward greater health, and is, as such, a powerful medium able to transform negatively perceived impacts in life into an experience of resolve, calm, and ease.

  • We help individuals to engage in the art of quilting as a intervention and coping skill to improve their mental health. We also participate in quilting projects aimed to provide vulnerable populations with quilted goods for their use and comfort. And, we offer trainings to introduce quilting as a self-care activity specific to individuals’ needs.

  • We serve those who are struggling with their mental health and seek a therapeutic methodology to achieve their self-care goals. We also engage with vulnerable populations and those in need—such as foster children, the elderly, veterans, the disabled, etc.—to support them in their needs.

  • Finding the right therapeutic approach for anyone in need of mental health support can be daunting. The complexity of the field of psychology and its many modalities can make it difficult to find the right fit.

At Quilty.Health, we apply a masterful craft to the nuances and needs of effective therapeutic interventions. We take the complexity of both quilting and psychotherapy and marry them into a serene flow of relief for the unique individual.

Moreover, with Quilty.Health, one learns to internalize the skill in a such a way that they can grow into applying it independently, thus realizing a freedom otherwise hard to assume.

The Quilty.Health Process

Design Your Quilt

Let your imagination run free as your design your quilt or follow a predetermined structure to simplify to process.

Choose Your Fabrics

Each design uniquely requires a set of fabrics that harmonize and/or contrast with each other to make a quilt come alive.

Cut, Sew, & Assemble

Cutting and piecing the quilt together is often a momentous and enjoyable task, not to be outdone by assembling everything together.

Quilt & Binding

Adding the final touch with your personal quilt design highlights your hard work as the binding finalizes all your efforts.
